The site is comprised of rows of menhirs, dolmens and covered walkways; more than 4000 stones spread over 4 km. This world-famous archeological site is unfortunately closed for part of the year in order to preserve it (closed to the public in the summer and open in the winter). You can, however, admire these huge stones from the roadside.
Visit the archeological museum in Carnac, home to one of the largest collections of prehistoric objects in the world, discovered during a succession of excavations. The museum retraces the evolution of mankind in Brittany from the Paleolithic period (45 000 BC) to the Middle Ages.
