Take a ferry across to Belle-Ile-en-Mer to Le Palais, a picture-postcard harbour. Take a leisurely stroll along the marked footpaths or cycle along the cycle paths. The wild coast is a great for mountain biking.
Once you have visited le Palais harbour, you can start visiting the island’s villages. In Bangor the moors, heaths and beaches are wilder whilst Sauzon is blissfully peaceful. South of the island is Locmaria which shelters vast beaches ideal for sunbathing. : Port Andro, Samzun and Les Grands Sables. La Pointe des Poulains is located on the most northerly tip of the island. It is here that the famous actress, Sarah Bernhardt, spent several months a year. Also on the northern tip : Port Coton rocks, Jean and Jeanne menhirs and Donnant beach.
The crossing to this corner of paradise takes about an hour from Port Navalo, Locmariaquer and Vannes.
